Pigments are the colours that occur naturally. In human there is a pigment named melanin which can give colour to the skin, hair and eyeballs. And the colour of the skin can range from light to dark brown and this is known as pigmentation.

Melanocytes makes melanin and when they get damaged there are a few pigmentation problems that can occur. They are:

Hyperpigmentation

It is a skin condition which can make the melanocytes go into overdrive and then release some extra melanin.

Hypo pigmentation

Another condition on the skin that causes patches of skin loses its pigment because of the slowdown of the growth of melanin.

De-pigmentation

Here, the skin starts losing its melanin pigment from patches and leads to some skin disease.

One can take help of an aesthetic dermatologist in Mumbai if one of the above mentioned conditions happens to them. In a tropical country like India sun lights are strong. Though it helps in synthesis of Vitamin D in the bodies but the UV rays can harm the skin. Hence one can suffer from sun spots and tans. One must not leave the house without apply a good layer of sun screen on the exposed areas of their body and they need to reapply it every 3 hours to stay safe from the tan.

Post Inflammatory Hyper pigmentation

Inflammation is something that happens because there is some wound or irritant on the skin. The skin swells up slightly and then turns red. It also hurts. There are several reasons why one can suffer from skin inflammation:

  • Acne
  • Psoriasis
  • Atopic dermatitis
  • Cosmetic irritant

  • Insect bites

All of these conditions can leave behind scars and spots during the time of healing. The dark blemishes can stay on the skin for a few months but one has to go for a right treatment to get rid of them. Vitamin C is said to be a great remedy in order to lighten the dark spots. One can use lime juice or a serum that has Vitamin C and apply it on the affected area.

Frictional Melanises

This can happen because of the continuous friction or the rubbing of the skin. This mostly happens at the thigh’s skin because they keep rubbing against each other.  This can also happen at the neck area, elbow and nape. One has to wear soft and lose clothes in order to keep their skin comfortable.

Nutritional Deficiency

There can be lack of Vitamin C, Vitamin B 12, Vitamin E and more which can lead to hyper pigmentation of the skin. So, one must keep in account a nutrient dense and a balanced diet. One can have supplements like Vitamin tablets, skin bright serums and more but before using any of them it is strictly necessary to consult a dermatologist. There are many aesthetic dermatologists in India where one can go.

One must keep a track on their skin issues and keep taking expert help from time to time.
